My Story by Razor

Hi, My name is Razor. Well at least that's the name my human parents use. They say my full name is Hismerh Kronos Razor, but trust me, you can't pronounce my dog name. As of now, I am just about 1 year old, so my story isn't that long yet. At least I don't think so. That's a picture of me laying in the grass in my yard. Dad took the picture back in November around Thankgiving.
I am a full blooded Dobermann Pinscher, I weigh 97 pounds right now and I'm just under 30 inches tall at my shoulder. I'm Black and Tan, just like the dogs in the movie "The Doberman Gang". I was born in Pennsylvania as one of a litter of 7. I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters, also Black and Tan. Here is a picture of me with my Football.

I met my human Dad 3 times before he took me home when I was about 8 weeks old. He says I got my human name (Razor) because when he came to bring me home, I climbed up into his lap and started chewing on his hand with my little "Razor" sharp teeth. So what's a puppy supposed to do? One time and I'm stuck with it forever, but it's not so bad, he could have named me something really stupid. But actually, I kind of like the name. Me and my Dad and Mom all live in New Jersey, down near Sandy Hook, which is a pretty cool place.

I haven't really met any other Dobes, except for two girls one girl we met when we were watching an Agility match. She was nice but kinda young. She was still having her ears trained. The other was a girl we met at the dog park that we go to once in a while. But we only saw her once. She was fun to play with, but she got stupid around the little human beings (they call them kids). And she also liked to get her own way. But I had fun running with her that time. We don't go to the dog park much anymore since my Dad said there were a bunch of idiots that brought little kids and babies and even some nasty dogs there. Said he didn't want to take a chance on me being hurt, or even worse, blamed for something I didn't do. Something about Dobes getting blamed for lots of stuff just because they're Dobes. I don't get it, but Dad is a good man and he's probably right. So we go places where we can walk and play that Dad feels comfortable with.

I like a lot of things, but mostly I like my squeaky toys to play with and my purple tug ball. Dad says that there are a lot of toys that I can't have because I might hurt myself. He says they come apart too easy and I might swallow the pieces, so he only gets me toys that are pretty tough. Guess it has something to do with my name? The other things I like are playing Agility and going to Obedience class. Both of those classes are fun. I can't wait until I'm old enough to play Agility for real, with all the other grown up dogs. Both Dad and the teacher say I'm pretty fast, especially for a big dog, but I'll tell you a secret, I can go faster. Dad only lets me do low jumps because he doesn't want me to hurt my growth plates (whatever they are). So I just do a few low jumps when we play Agility and we do the tunnels (those are really neat). I like to play on the teeter totter and once I made Dad really laugh when I bounced the teeter up and down while I was standing on the end of it. That was pretty neat. And Dad was also pretty happy when I helped my buddy Ziggy (a Vizla) learn to do the Dog Walk. Ziggy was a little afraid, so I got him to chase me across it. Now he does it like a pro! And he didn't have time to be afraid when he was chasing me that first time, and I don't think he even realized he was doing it! (lol)

Dad says something about "I only have an On/Off switch, and there is no idle or neutral". Not quite sure what that means, but at the end of the day, Dad is usually tired. And that's when he says my switch just got turned to off. Here is a picture from when Dad says my switch is in the Off position.

Obedience class is also fun, but some of the stuff is kind of weird. But I have fun and it makes Dad happy. We are in a class called Attention 2. It starts in a couple of days and I hope I know someone there. It's always more fun that way. My best buddy Nanook (a Newfie) used to go to all the same Obedience classes, but Dad says because of schedules, we may not see him at class for a while.

I also have another buddy that I haven't seen in a while, Niko, he's an Airedale. Dad said him and his Mom moved away to upstate New York. I haven't seen him since before it started snowing. Dad says he's going to come for a visit soon though. He says something about March madness and Niko losing his icicles. I hope losing your icicles doesn't hurt too much, cause Dad says I'm probably going to lose mine soon too. Wonder what they are anyhow???

Well it's a really nice day today and Dad just asked me if I want to go for a walk in the park, and that's something I ALWAYS LIKE to do. So I'll pick this up later. I think I'll tell you about what it's been like since I came home with Dad. Bye for now and See you later.

Hi, I'm Razor the Dobermann and this the Beginning of my Story

Well, I'm really sorry that it's taken me this long to come back and tell you my story. We've been a bit busy and My Dad forgot how to login to My blog and you know the story with old people .

So my story starts when I was born on March 15, 2006. I am one of seven Black and Tan pups. There are 3 girls and 4 boys. Are real parents are Irinland Eros Erato and Teraline Afina. Our breeder is Merab. He comes from Russia (actually Georgia now). He is a good man and takes care of everybody pretty well. He has the Kennel, known as Hismerh Kennel up in Pennsylvania. It's out in the woods from what my new Dad says (I don't really remember much) and about 4 to 5 hours away by car. My Dad says it's a long trip, but he came to see me a couple of times before I was ready to come home with him. The first time he saw me, I didn't hardly even have my eyes open. The next time, he came, is the first time I actually remember him. I stood in the middle of the living room floor and looked at everything going on. One of my brothers just went exploring all over the living room, another of my brothers just kept following the first one and my last brother just decided he was too tired and fell asleep.

But I just kind of watched everything. My Dad says I am the thinker. He also thinks I am probably the Alpha male of the litter. I just know that I'm not doing anything until I'm ready and if the others want to follow me then fine.

The next time My Dad came to see me, it was time to go home with him. From what I remember, it was just me and one of my brothers that had not gone to our New Homes and I was getting a little nervous that My Dad wouldn't come back for me. But he did, and when I saw him, he was sitting on the lawn and just watching me and my brother. So I went over to him, climbed up in his lap and started chewing on his hand to let him know I was ready to go home with him. My Dad and Merab were talking about a lot of stuff, like how to fix my ears (I don't know why, cause I didn't think they were broken), what to feed me (food is always GOOD), what shots I had already had (they aren't too bad, cause the Vet always gives me cookies) and a whole bunch of other stuff. I saw my real mother one last time and she kissed me good-bye and I kissed her too, and then my Dad put me in the car and we were on our way.

After a long time, Dad stopped the car and we got out near some trees and I went pottie. I had to go and let Dad know it. Then he gave me a little drink of water and we were off again. I slept most of the way home, but near the end of the trip, I had to go pottie again, so Dad stopped the car and we went pottie near some bushes at a place where there were a lot of stores.

We got home and it was around 6 o'clock from what my Dad says. Then, my New Mom was home from work and waiting for us and when she saw me she said "We're never giving him back!" And she picked me up and hugged me a lot!

Then Dad made her put me down and Dad and I went out into the back yard so I could go pottie again. After we went pottie, we went inside and Dad let me explore in the house, but he followed me around the whole time.

Dad fed me my dinner and I was really tired so we laid down on the floor in the family room and I went to sleep for a while, right next to my Dad. When I woke up, Dad and I went outside so I could go pottie again. I stayed up for a while, watched TV for a little while, played with Dad and Mom, and then it was time to go to bed. Dad carried me up the stairs, I just couldn't get my butt to climb them yet. We went to the bedroom and I went into my crate. Dad got ready for bed and we went to sleep. I woke up a while later and it was really dark out but I really had to go pottie again, so Dad got up and carried me outside. Whew, that was close, I couldn't have held it another minute. Dad said it was 2 o'clock in the morning and to "be quick" and go pottie.

Then we went back inside and went to sleep again. I woke up again and had to go pottie some more. Woke Dad up again and out we went. He seemed a little grouchy and said it was 4:30 in the morning. But I went pottie again and back we went inside and to sleep again. Dad mumbled something about being as bad as a kid and midnight feeding. Don't know what that meant?

Then it was morning and we went out first thing and you guessed it, I went pottie again.

I went exploring that first full day I was home with Dad. We went into every room in the house. Boy it seemed like I would never find my way around, but I wasn't afraid. In the afternoon, we went to the Vet's office and she checked me over and said I was healthy and she gave me a shot. It didn't really hurt, but she gave me cookies and told me what a good puppy I was. I liked her and all the other ladies at the vet's office. They all thought I was really pretty. And they thought my ears were kind of funny being all taped up. The Vet said I was 13.7 pounds, and just right for my age.

For the next couple of weeks, I kept meeting new people and going new places and Dad said that after the third night, I slept all the way until 6 o'clock and how happy he was about getting to sleep a whole night. I guess old people need a lot of sleep.

One really cool place Dad took me was to "the boat". This boat thing was a little strange at first. It always feels like you're moving. It was kind of scary at first, so I didn't do hardly any exploring, but after a while, it was pretty neat. The only bad thing was that the men at the marina laughed at my ears, but the ladies all wanted to hug me. I guess that's not so bad. Everybody was asking Dad about my "helmet" and why I needed it.

Dad had to go out and get a fence for our yard, cause he didn't want anybody to come in the yard and hurt me. And something about the town not allowing puppies to run around loose. So Dad put up a really nice fence with gates and everything. Took him about a week to get it all put up.

After a few more weeks, Dad said we were going to go to school. I didn't know I was going to have to go to school. Actually, I didn't even know what "school" was! So anyhow, one day Dad carries me out to the car and off we go. We got to a new place I had never been to before and we walked into this really big place and WOW, there were a bunch of other puppies there! Dad called it Puppy Kindergarten, but I called it FUN! That's when I met my best friend. Nanook, (he's a Newfie) and he wieghs more then me. We had a lot of fun and got to play between what Dad says were lessons. Dad said I was pretty smart and that he was pretty Klutzy, but I learned to sit when he said to, at least most of the time.

Then things got way better. Dad invited Nanook and his Mom over to play. It was the coolest. Me and Nanook ran around and played with some of my toys and wrestled a lot. That was really cool. Nanook's Mom said it was teaching us bite inhibition whatever that meant. All I know is, that it was really cool to have my best friend come over and play.

Finally, Dad took all the stuff off my ears and he told Mom that my ears were standing all by themselves. I coulda told him that.

A week or so later, I went to another really cool place called a "Dog Park". I met 2 other guys there. The first was Kobe, he was smaller then me, but not much. He's a Shiba Inu. Kobe was a lot of fun, cause he liked to run a lot. We played catch me and got to chase each other all over the place. Then I met Niko (an Airedale). Niko was kind of shy at first, but we got to be really good friends. Now this is really cool. One day, Nanook, Niko and Kobe all came over to my house. That was the BEST!!!

We all ran around and wrestled and played with toys and Nanook went into this pool thing that Dad put water into. We got to drink from the hose and we had a GREAT Time!!! But the Best was when Nanook came over or when we went to Nanook's house. Sometimes Me and Nanook would just lay there and relax.

We played and went to school, and went to the boat and we started going on walks in different places. Dad and Nanook's Mom took us to walk in town together and Vanessa (Nanook's Mom) showed Dad all sorts of neat stuff and cool places to go. She even took us to this place to get Ice Cream. Boy do I like that!!!

Then the weather started getting cooler, and the trees started turning all different colors. I remember Dad saying something about the "Summer of the Puppy", and how he hoped it wasn't over.

Then Dad told me one afternoon that we were going to go to a thing called "Agility". I didn't know what that was, but all the classes we had been to so far were kind of fun, and I got to see my friends and make new friends sometimes. So I was happy to go. When we got there, there were all sorts of neat things all over this big yard. I didn't know what any of this stuff was or what to do with it. The instructor said we were going to learn what each of these "pieces of equipment" were, and see how the pups reacted to each thing. She also said that this was just an introduction and not to go too fast. Me, I couldn't wait to get started!!

Well, I'm tired of writing this and I want to go out and, you know. So I'll come back later and write some more, when I can get Dad to help me with the computer. See ya later.
